Syllabus

Program Information

Participants in the Santander program can expect three hours of daily instruction, four days a days a week, for the duration of the program. The syllabus is analogous to that of SPAN220 as conducted at USC, with greater emphasis on experiential learning in the form of project-based activities that require engaging with the community. In keeping with this, participants in these program should be aware that program excursions are part of the instructional time and will require occasional group work. As with other lower-level SPAN courses, students can expect a communicative approach to language learning. Course tasks and class time will be designed with the intent of creating opportunities for students to speak with the ultimate goal of enabling learners to navigate daily interactions within the local culture, entirely in Spanish.
