PhD Program Advisor
Annie works with faculty and administrators to implement as well as to adjust policies and operations that concern admissions, curricula, student advisement, and placement. She regularly counsels doctoral students, acts as the Staff Advisor for the student group Women in Economics, and represents the Department on all matters pertaining to its PhD in Economics program. When not at work, Annie can be found eating far too much Szechuan food, hiking, or gaming.
Justin assists the PhD Program Advisor in crafting and disseminating the Department’s messages and initiatives to its students. As a graduate student in Annenberg, Justin is passionate about communication and aspires to apply his background towards a career in higher education. In his free time, Justin loves playing music and is a violinist in USC’s Student Symphony Orchestra.
Michelle assists the PhD Program Advisor in crafting and disseminating the Department’s messages and initiatives to its students. She is responsible for supporting and communicating the initiatives and policies within the PhD program. Beyond being a Graduate Assistant, Michelle enjoys watching horror films and eating salmon.
Kristie assists the PhD Program Advisor with admissions, advising, and administrative tasks. She is currently in her second and final year in the Educational Counseling M.Ed program here at USC. Beyond being a Graduate Assistant, Kristie loves trying new foods while in Los Angeles, especially good dessert spots.
Jessica works with the Student Programs Advisor to design, create, and maintain department web pages, troubleshoot issues on the site, and implement innovative ways to make improvements. In her down time, Jessica can be found making lattes, going to concerts, and enjoying all things aesthetic.
Postdoctoral Scholar – Teaching Fellow
Dong Woo is an applied microeconomist with expertise in the fields of Economics of Education, Market Design, and Industrial Organization, with a specific emphasis on Empirical School Choice. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from Columbia University in 2022. He teaches Ph.D. Empirical Industrial Organization (ECON 688).
