Homeostatic Feelings and the Emergence of Consciousness

The article presents a novel hypothesis proposing that consciousness in mammalian organisms arises from three key processes: continuous generation of interoceptive feelings, production of sensory perspective-based images, and integration of feeling/experience with perspective, all supported by specific physiological mechanisms in the peripheral and central nervous system.
