The Importance of Accessibility
Making science relatable and accessible to the general public is an integral part of the scientific process. Science education in primary and secondary schools is particularly critical. Students need the opportunity to engage in science much earlier in their educational trajectory so that they develop an understanding of major concepts and are inspired to pursue STEM careers as they finish high school. The CEE Lab participates in a variety of outreach opportunities in and around LA and is always happy to host tours – please contact PI Kenkel if you would like to view our lab and/or aquarium.

K-12 Education
Gradeschool is a critical time to teach children essential scientific concepts and encourage exploration of STEM careers. At CEE Lab, we make it a goal to give back to our community and help to uplift and support the next generations of scientists and change makers.
