Research Methods Workshops
In April 2022, professors and researchers from three universities in Armenia gathered for phase one of a three-day hybrid seminar (remote & live) on research methods. The purpose was not only learning about best practices in research methods but also learning to teach research methodology to their own students. Weeks later, the same professors passed on their knowledge and skills and led their own training sessions for master’s level students from all over Armenia and Artsakh.
Social Science Principles and Research Methodologies
Seventeen Master’s level students from five universities in Armenia gathered at the USC Tacori Center in Maiakovski village for a MasterClass on the “Social Science Principles and Research Methodologies.” The program took place from January 18-20, 2022, and was the third on the same themes, organized by the University of Southern California Institute of Armenia Studies, in collaboration with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
Post-Soviet Armenia and Social Theories
The five-day program led by Professor Cheterian who teaches International Relations at Webster University Geneva, and Naira Sahakyan, who teaches at Armenia’s Yerevan State University gave local scholars the opportunity to learn from and interact with other scholars and specialists in related fields. Topics ranged from diaspora-homeland relations, to post-Soviet transitions, human rights, state-formation, and ethno-territorial conflicts.
