"AdviseStream": The E-Portfolio

Advisestream is a new advising platform created by our colleagues at Duke University. Associate Dean Dr. Dan Scheirer and Lois Scheirer will introduce the new advising platform that we are piloting at USC to help premedical students keep up with evolving medical school admissions practices and competency based assessment.  Premedical students will be able to create their own pre-health portfolio online and track their own progress from start to matriculation into medical school.

Keck Mentor Day

 

You must fill out your information on this survey to RSVP.

This day-long program is meant to expose premedical students to the Health Sciences Campus (HSC) and hear more about preparation for medical school from students and faculty at the Keck School of Medicine. Students should take advantage of this opportunity. Tours as well as a current medical student panel will be included. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to be paired with a Keck medical student mentor! 

 

Time: 12:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Location: Health Science Campus

In addition to filling out the form, you will need to turn in a $10 deposit (check or cash) to confirm your reservation by Apr. 5th. Please turn in this deposit to the Pre-Health Advising Office, (attn: Nathalie Zuletta, FIG 107). The deposit will be returned upon check-in at Keck Mentor Day.

 

Keck Mentor Day Program of Events (tentative)

12:00 pm - Lunch and Introduction to the Keck School of Medicine by the AHMP Board and a member of the faculty.

Location: MCH 249

1:00 pm - Tour of the Health Sciences Campus, including classrooms, hospital facilities and the gross anatomy laboratory.

2:00 pm - Student panel to answer questions about medical school life, making the decision to attend medical school and research opportunities at HSC.

3:30-4:30 pm - Meet and Greet with your Keck School Mentor. Snacks and refreshments served.
