Biography

Thomas Chaney is the John Elliott Chair in Economics and Professor of Economics at the USC Department of Economics.

Thomas holds a Ph.D. in Economics from MIT, and a Masters’ degree in Economics from Ecole Normale Superieure. Prior to joining USC, Thomas held positions at the University of Chicago, Toulouse School of Economics, and Sciences Po in Paris.

Thomas’ research focuses on International Trade, Immigration, Growth, Corporate Finance, Network Economics, and more recently on Economic History, with quantitative studies of trade in the Bronze Age and of the End of Antiquity.
