Katya Lopatko is a senior studying IR and French whose brief stints in the workforce via internships and part-time jobs (including a current Editorial gig at Vice Media) have convinced her that she’s better suited for a “life of the mind” than for corporate drudgery—she is currently on the prowl for adventures and opportunities to fill a gap year before applying to graduate school. In her nonexistent free time, she edits Glimpse from the Globe, runs Bloom Boutique, a second-hand charitable thrift boutique that she founded on campus last spring, drags her friends to arthouse film screenings and makes a genuine effort to see some nature. An avid journaler since age 16, she has lately been collecting her creative nonfiction and poetry writing on a secret Tumblr she started with two friends in a burst of post-study abroad nostalgia. She is unfortunately bound to secrecy about the title but can reveal that it involves writing under the Italian pseudonyms/alter-egos Francesca, Giovanni and Donatella, who lead a much more glamorous and exciting life than do any of the actual authors.
