Alyssa Stanghellini is 29 years old and currently resides in Merced, CA where she was born and raised. She has always had a passion for art and knew she wanted to be an artist “when she grew up” after learning about van Gogh in kindergarten. After earning her transfer credits in 2013 from Merced College, she went on to attain her Bachelors in Fine Art from UC Berkeley in 2015 as a single mother; her son is now 11 years old. She has recently applied for the Graduate program at Fresno State University. Alyssa primarily works with oil paint and frequently uses portraiture as her subject matter. Alyssa received an award for excellence in drawing from UC Berkeley, was awarded an artist residency in France last year, has exhibited in multiple shows in Berkeley and Albany, CA and has recently enjoyed taking on curating shows as well.
