Harlow Brooks has found her footing through the stories she has collected throughout her life. She was raised in Healdsburg, California, a small wine town in Northern California where the connectedness of her tight-knit community became the inspiration for specific yet wide-reaching narratives. During her time at the School of Cinematic Arts, Harlow’s filmmaking has reached a new maturity and level of complexity that she credits to the support she has received from her talented faculty and peers. Working both in prose and visual media, Harlow often begins with short stories and develops these stories into films, such as with her junior thesis, Counting Thunder.
