nocturne

ByAbbie Stellar

“The piece nocturne is a physical rendering of the experience of music. Based off of the piano composition, Nocturne, Opus 9, No. 2 by Frederic Chopin, I used a mix of copper and silver wire to indicate the delicate and undulating sounds of the musical piece. The use of different color wire symbolize the instrument in which this piece was written for, and also act as visual aids to break up the winding amounts of silver wire. The various gauges of wire allude to the differences in measures and sections of the musical piece. The thin, and subtle wire, when mixed with light, showcases the grandeur of the composition, and the mesmerizing effect of both art and music.”
