Alumnus Viet Luong, a paratrooper with the 1st Cavalry Division, becomes the first Vietnamese-born general officer in the United States military.

From briefing generals and admirals during the Vietnam War, to overhauling his county’s social service system, alumnus Richard “Jake” Jacobsen has helped to improve thousands of lives.

Congratulations to the 10 USC Dornsife students who won 2013 Fulbright Scholarships. The award will take them to India, Laos, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland and Mexico.

USC Dornsife’s Jennifer Do swapped a lab coat for a traditional Vietnamese gown when she participated in the 2012 Miss Vietnam of Southern California Pageant. An assignment in Professor Andrew Simpson’s class compelled her to study her Vietnamese culture.
