USC Dornsife alumni serving overseas fly the American flag in the Afghan war in homage to their alma mater.
The event included 25 scholars from 14 West Coast universities and think tanks. U.S. Air Force Secretary Michael Donley, a USC Dornsife alumnus, led the discussions among scholars and other Air Force officers.
Born on a U.S. Air Force base, 59 years later Michael Donley is the Air Force’s top civilian leader. Entrusted to restore credibility to that branch of the military’s nuclear enterprise, he’s also trying to win a few wars.
USC College alumnus Lt. Col. Russell Todd Zink is leading the Lone Star Battalion to help build a government to replace Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
