A $6.6 million gift from the Shinnyo-en Buddhist order supports the newly named USC Shinso Ito Center for Japanese Religions and Culture.


The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation award reflects the quality of humanities faculty at USC Dornsife and critical studies faculty in the USC School of Cinematic Arts, as well as the cross-disciplinary research potential at the university’s centers and institutes.

Social Impact

The library at USC Dornsife’s Joint Educational Project (JEP) is now named after the Tesoriero family in recognition of their philanthropic support.
