For more information and to apply see our DRP (Directed Reading Program) website here.

The USC math-directed reading program is a semester-long program where each undergraduate participant reads a math textbook with guidance from a graduate math student. The undergraduate student and their graduate mentor meet weekly during the semester. At the end of the semester, the undergraduate student gives a 12-minute presentation on the topic that they have studied. The program is a good complement to courses offered by the department for those looking to explore math not covered in a standard course.

For the Spring 2024 Math DRP, the final presentation/symposium will take place on April 22, 2024 (tentatively from 7-9 pm). The DRP program has grown over the past two years, and we hope to continue this, as the mentorships have been very rewarding for everyone involved. If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill in the application form here. Priority consideration will be given to those who apply by January 7th.

Please feel free to reach out to Brian Fan <brianfan@usc.edu> if you have any questions.
