D. J. Hall had her first Los Angeles exhibition in 1975. Since then, her work has been exhibited throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan. Her work has been included in more than 80 museum and gallery (solo & group) exhibitions. It has been featured in numerous publications, television and radio broadcasts. She has also worked on extramural projects for feature film (Spanglish), theatre (Ahmanson), and LAX. She is represented in L. A. by Craig Krull Gallery. Her papers are archived in the Library Special Collections, Charles E. Young Research Library, UCLA. On the surface, her paintings portray “happy”, smiling women. Yet the emotional underpinnings are of grief and sense of loss. The intense light and bright color depict Southern California lifestyle. DJ Hall currently teaches for LMU’s Department of Art & Art History in Drawing.
