Director of Physical Education Mind Body Health
Dr. Marcos Briano “DrB” (he/him/el pronouns), Director of USC’s Physical Education & Mind Body Health (PEMBH) department, is dedicated to students’ wellbeing through physical fitness, mental wellness, and the connection of mind body health. PEMBH is currently developing certification programs, expansion of mind body health courses, and a peer mentor suicide intervention training program.
Dr. B earned his Ph.D., in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis on Multicultural Community Clinical Psychology at California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant University), his Masters in Marriage Family Therapy (MFT) and his BA/BS in Psychology/Exercise Science from USC. His research interests include suicide intervention training, teaching, social justice, and advocacy for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities.
You may catch DrB on campus teaching golf, group fitness classes, in the classroom teaching undergraduate/graduate courses, mentoring MFT graduate students, or on local public transportation/riding his bike to campus – if you see him, feel free to stop him and say hi or visit him at PED 107.
