Hi! My name is Jamie and I am interning with TreePeople’s Marketing and Communications department this semester. I’m a senior double majoring in Public Relations and Environmental Studies, so this internship has been a perfect opportunity to combine those two areas of interest. TreePeople is a nonprofit organization focused on planting trees in urban areas without shade, providing schools with green spaces, and sponsoring environmental education all with an emphasis on environmental justice, so my work within the Marketing and Communications department revolves around those issues. I had the privilege of interning with the Garden School Foundation (GSF) at their Mar Vista location, Grand View Blvd Elementary School, helping to spread knowledge and awareness about garden-based education to Title 1 schools in Los Angeles County.
