Betsey Dillon ’81

Recruiter. Marketer. And sometimes clarinetist. Betsey Dillon’s career journey extends from coast to coast, leading to her most recent experience working in the health care and apparel industries in human resources. 

Living in beach communities from Ocean City, New Jersey to Santa Cruz to San Clemente, Betsey started her career in the surf wear industry with sales territories spanning from the East Coast to Hawaii. She founded her own sportswear company which began by selling to boutiques and grew to sales in major department stores including Nordstrom and Macys. Moving forward, Betsey expanded her interests to work for an apparel company that designed and marketed high-end clothing that included robes worn by Fran Drescher in “The Nanny” and Brad Pitt in “Fight Club.”

Currently living in San Clemente, Betsey has two adult children and a teenage dog. In her leisure time, she enjoys stand-up paddle boarding, reading at the beach and philanthropy.

Betsey earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing at USC. She played clarinet in the Trojan Marching Band and performed “Tusk” with Fleetwood Mac. Today she serves as a founding officer and first vice president of the Trojan Marching Band Alumni Association and is still practicing to play the clarinet at homecoming performances.
