Internal Funding
USC’s University-Wide Funding Opportunities

Supplemental Faculty Support – Funds are available to provide supplemental research grants for tenured, tenure-track, and full-time research faculty and lecturers in WiSE-eligible departments
Humanities & Humanistic Social Sciences Program – Aims to promote creativity and excellence by supporting humanities and humanistic social science faculty in their individual and collective scholarly work.
USC full-time faculty in the arts, humanities, and humanistic social sciences (with the exception of visiting faculty) can apply for research grants of $5,000 – $25,000 to help foster inquiry into a new area of study, further develop current research, produce a creative work, or cover course release to engage in a non-teaching semester. Dornsife’s Office of Research Administration
USC Dornsife Research Administration is offering weekly online office hours on Wednesdays between 3 and 4 p.m. via Zoom.
They have research resources specific for Dornsife faculty as well as assistance in preparing proposals for internal grants!

USC’s Funding for Faculty Instruction
The Provost is pleased to introduce the Interdisciplinary Teaching Grant program to fund teaching grants that support interdisciplinary curriculum development through team-teaching and other teaching models that utilize expertise across the disciplines, the arts, and the professions.
The USC Mentoring Awards honor faculty who contribute to an engaging, supportive, inclusive academic environment through their mentorship of students and faculty.
Undergraduate Research Assistantship Support
The Undergraduate Research Associates Program is administered by the USC Office of Academic Programs. The goal of this program is to provide resources that enable faculty to integrate undergraduates into their scholarly and professional activities. Faculty engaged in research with undergraduate students are invited to submit proposals to the Office of Undergraduate Education for additional funding.
SURF and SHURE are opportunities for USC Dornsife students to pursue research in conjunction with Dornsife faculty members, either on or off campus, during the summer semester. The purpose of SURF/SHURE is to connect students with faculty members and their research. Dornsife faculty interested in posting their research should sign up as employers on USC Handshake.
Professional Development Resources
As part of its efforts to support faculty development and success, the Office of Faculty Development and Recognition, in partnership with the USC Culture Team hosts an institutional membership with the NCFDD. NCFDD is a professional development resource to help faculty thrive in meeting the multitude of responsibilities of a faculty member.
