  • Summary Statement of Research Interests

    My specific interests can broadly be broken down into three main areas: Energy-related Materials, Fluorine Chemistry and Crystallography.
    I am very interested in the synthesis of environmentally benign and non-toxic energetic materials for storage and controlled release of energy. Green Energetic Materials are energetic materials that are virtually free of environmental hazards and toxicity issues during the course of their production, storage, use, and disposal.
    In Fluorine Chemistry, we are interested in the preparation, stabilization and characterization of highly reactive species and intermediates. We prepare compounds with elements at their limits of oxidation and coordination. This research also involves superacid chemistry.
    As crystallographer, I am interested in the structural aspect of materials. I am also looking for structure-reactivity and structure-property correlations of materials.
    I am are also very interested in X-ray crystallography, NMR spectroscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, and quantum mechanical calculations.
