Andrey F. Vilesov obtained his Ph.D. in Physics at St. Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg, Russia in 1985. In 1990 he moved to the Max Planck Institute for Fluid Dynamics (Strömungsforschung), Göttingen, Germany, where he did research in groups of Prof. Christoph Ottinger and Prof. J. Peter Toennies. In 1999 He received his habilitation in physics from University of Göttingen for his works on helium nano-droplets. Since 2000 he has been a Professor of Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
