Pain Personified

ByAbriana Stewart

“This cardboard sculpture, ‘Pain Personified,’ is an abstract design of electricity, water, and storm elements as a personification of physical pain. Its structure is a “body cage” inspired by aura-like shapes, alluding to an inward spiritual component of hope and healing, and the outward radiation of pain. The form is based upon my human body inside the space in a tucked position. The project was inspired by a history of chronic back and stomach pain, which was the result of an Ureteropelvic Junction Kidney Obstruction discovered and operated upon during the first Fall Semester at USC.”
