Ambush!

ByMichael Ford, Masato Lin, Brendan Tighe

“The original intention behind Ambush!, an experimental game project, was to make players feel overwhelmed and confused. In a test of strategy and reflexes, the game revolves around memorizing the locations of cards and racing to recall and acquire them.

The final product, improved and further developed remotely over the 2020 quarantine period, incorporates fantasy elements while still preserving the spirit of the initial project.”

Michael Ford is a sophomore majoring in Interactive Media at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. He enjoys creative writing, video editing, and, of course, making games. He has been working on board games in his free time for as long as he can remember, and Ambush! is his biggest and most official project yet. Michael is the main brain behind Ambush! — always designing, testing, and iterating.

Masato Lin is a sophomore studying Computer Science Games. He enjoys writing short stories, sketching, and wasting time on YouTube. An avid doodler since childhood, Ambush! is Masato’s first formal artistic endeavor. He worked tirelessly to breathe life into the Ambush! characters and landscapes.

Raised in Hong Kong since the age of 5, Brendan Tighe traveled to Los Angeles to study Interactive Entertainment at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. Brendan had little experience with table-top games before Ambush! but has thrived in the dynamic environment of product design and marketing. As the guiding force behind the team, he collaborated alongside Michael and Masato in their respective fields to fully realize the vision of Ambush!.
