“Creating this artwork helped me understand that underneath the multiple perceptions we have of ourselves lies an authentic self. Being aware of this true self is paramount in navigating a world of burgeoning social insecurities and competitive struggles. Introspection can help us find our real character and grow further as individuals. I plan to continue to use artistic creation to look inside and around me and add new dimensions to my beliefs.”

My name is Veda Bansal and I am a freshman at USC. To me, artistic creation is the most meaningful cultural pursuit. Creating art takes me out of the bubble of mundane life and into a world of unbridled creativity and exploration. When drawing, I am able to experiment with themes and concepts that ultimately make a consequential impact on my thought process. With nothing but a blank canvas in front of me, I can speculate new perspectives and picture the world differently.
