Tristan Heinicke (1998) was born in Summit, New Jersey, and began playing guitar at the age of 9, initially entranced with rock and shred guitar. Beginning middle school in California, music was clearly his calling. Tristan attended the Orange County School of the Arts with an emphasis in jazz guitar, where he developed a love of classical music and began composing. There, he composed music for groups of friends, his own group, jazz big band, and eventually the orchestra. Tristan is finishing his freshman year at USC in 2018, studying composition with Sean Friar, and jazz performance with Alan Pasqua and Bruce Forman.
