ByMato Wayuhi

19 year old artist/producer from South Dakota, Mato Wayuhi‘s sound is raw and multifaceted. His songs range in various topics, such as depicting a youthful, yet complex affection for a lover in the jazzy “Pink Summertime,” to an emotional disdain regarding the historical and current mistreatment of his Native American relatives and ancestors in the lyrically impressive “Wildberry Poptart.” Mato hopes that his music will inspire other young Native artists to trust their creativity, while simultaneously paying homage to the culture that raised him. Currently, he is a sophomore at the University of Southern California, where he studies film. You can find his work on Spotify, Soundcloud, and Bandcamp.
