Science is a language, or many languages. Scientists talk to each other in our language of choice be it genetic codes, cycling of nutrients, the transfer of electric current through the universe, etcetera. Our science language code helps our little clans interact using a special short-hand language.
- All people can contribute to new ideas if they understand the fundamentals, and we are at our best in group communication of ideas.
- People use scientific information to make decisions about the world around us, and they have to understand, really understand,what the data is about, and what code words like “uncertainty” mean to scientists versus a layperson.
Science communication can be visual, verbal and creative minds can even dance their science using music.
