The Mathematics Department revised exam policies in 2023-24. From Fall 2024 onward, new policies are in effect. Students admitted before Fall 2024 may choose to follow either the old or new policies. Note that under these policies, Algebra and Geo/Top counted as 2 exams each.

- MATH PhD: 6 exams
- AMAT Masters: 2 exams
- MATH Masters: 4 exams
