Judith received her PhD from Columbia University in 2018 where she developed tools to quantify the binding preferences of transcription factor (TF) complexes to both native and epigenetically modified DNA. She worked as an HHMI student fellow under the supervision of Harmen Bussemaker and Richard Mann. After graduation, she worked as an EMBO and Marie-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow in Bart Deplancke’s lab at EPFL (Switzerland). Her research focused on developing new strategies to identify the mechanisms by which transcription factors mediate gene expression in native contexts, including TF cooperativity and the establishment of communication between TF-bound enhancers and promoters.
