For Students of Italian

Study Abroad

USC students to study Italian in Italy through Dornsife have options: Maymester, Julymester, Fall Semester, Spring Semester and/or an Academic Year Abroad.

Internships and Professionalization

Put your Italian to work in Italian owned and operated businesses with an internship match organized in collaboration with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West.  The two-unit academic internship is available to all students who have completed the third semester of Italian.

In addition to the opportunities with the IACCW, click here to learn about other internships that are possible in Italian.

Scholarships, Fellowships, and Awards

External, departmental and university scholarships, fellowships and awards help make the study of Italian even easier and bring recognition and additional opportunities along the way.

Italian Conversation Table and Student Organizations

Language is culture and there is no better way to build your language skills and learn about Italian culture than by interacting with other students of Italian, your Italian faculty and other Italian speakers in the USC community.

Italian Cultural Institutions and Resources

Both here in Los Angeles and across the nation there is a rich offering of Italian institutions and cultural centers that make it possible to supplement and extend your relationship with the language and culture through films, lectures, cooking courses and other Italian cultural events.

Proficiency Exams

Unlike USC's Placement Exam that helps students find the proper level of Italian to enroll in, there are a number of nationally and internationally recognized language proficiency assessments whose official ratings unlock opportunities and strengthen resumes.
