We will soon be having studies in-person as well. In the meantime, follow us on Instagram or check back later to find out when more of our studies go live!

We will reach out when your child is in the age range for one of our ongoing studies or if we have any upcoming studies your child may be eligible for. If you need assistance, please email childlab@usc.edu.
Please be assured that the information you send us is transmitted securely, kept confidential, will not be disclosed to any other party, and will only be used to advise you about our studies. Data will be securely stored/transmitted.

- Using Context Clues to Learn Words (Help Our Friends Find What They’re Looking For!)
This study looks at how 3 year olds might use verbs to learn about new words in a story context. The study runs online through Children Helping Science (an MIT developed website that hosts research studies from countless Universities). To participate in this study, you must create a Children Helping Science account. This study takes 10 to 15 minutes. In the study, your child would watch some video clips for approximately 5-10 minutes and be asked to point. Parents are asked to click on the selection your child has made. You will receive a $5 Amazon gift card for your child’s participation. Sign-up here!
- Understanding Mixed Emotions (How Do You Think They Feel?)
This study looks at how 3 to 5 year olds understand and label having two feelings at once. The study is a live Zoom call and you can sign up through Children Helping Science. To participate in this study, you must create a Children Helping Science account. This study takes 15 to 20 minutes. In the study, your child will hear multiple emotion scenarios and be asked to point. At the start of the Zoom call, parents will be asked to record a brief video indicating consent to participate.
