Bridging the Gaps – Summer Research Program

Minority students have the opportunity to gain exposure to the exceptional research and clinical programs at Keck School of Medicine.

Programs in Biomedical and Biological Sciences (PIBBS)

PIBBS serves as the entry point for interdisciplinary PhD programs at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. These PhD programs span multiple departments and emphasize diverse approaches to contemporary biomedical research. Comprising faculty from Keck School of Medicine, USC School of Pharmacy, and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, PIBBS provides a comprehensive platform for health-related research.

USC Research Centers and Institutes

USC is home to research centers and institutes spanning an array of disciplines and specialties within and across campus. These centers and institutes are the locus of research for collaborative groups of investigators pushing the frontiers of knowledge forward. USC’s interdisciplinary research ecosystem includes cross-school research projects, programs, and institutes.

Student Opps for Academic Research (SOAR)

The SOAR program provides funding to Dornsife undergraduates for participation as a research assistant in a faculty member’s project during the fall and spring semesters of the academic year.

National Research Institute for Undergraduates Database

NSF funds a large number of research opportunities for undergraduate students through its REU Sites program. An REU Site consists of a group of ten or so undergraduates who work in the research programs of the host institution. Each student is associated with a specific research project, where he/she works closely with the faculty and other researchers.
