Writing (In) Crisis: Perspectives from Latin America & Africa
Please join us on Friday October 2nd from 9:00 am- 5:00pm at Taper Hall (room 399) for Writing (in) Crisis: Perspectives from Latin America and Africa. This exciting one day symposium brings together up-and-coming scholars of Latin American and African literatures, cultures, performance, and the arts to reimagine the act of writing at this moment of crisis, and to rethink how we might collaboratively write about this crisis within the humanities. Our collaboration fosters South-South conversations and Global South perspectives often sidelined in academic debates, treating them not as “alternative literacies” but as decisive sites from which to reconceive what writing has been, is, and might become.
