While high traffic volume is a major contributor to congestion in Los Angeles, it is not the sole factor. This research examines how traffic speed is influenced by lane changes and explores the impact of freeway design elements, such as the placement of exits and entrances, on overall traffic flow. Using spatial data analysis, this study investigates the relationship between these variables to better understand the dynamics of traffic behavior and identify potential strategies for improving efficiency on Los Angeles freeways.
