Applications for undergraduate students researchers to work with Spatial Sciences Institute faculty on their research projects starting in the Fall 2024 semester are now being accepted.

The six projects currently are seeking undergraduates in good academic standing for paid/funded positions are with:

  • Dr. Hoda Abdel Magid (Leveraging Spatial Epidemiology to Reduce Hypertension Disparities)
  • Dr. Laura Loyola (The USC Sustainability Data Hub Phase 4: Further Development of the USC Sustainability Data Hub and Campus Collaborations)
  • Dr. Darren Ruddell, with Dr. Laura Loyola and Dr. Siqin Wang (Geospatial Workflows to Advance Biodiversity Research: A Non-Profit-Educational Partnership for Experiential Learning)
  • Dr. Jefferey Sellers (Analyzing Urban Change and Inequality in the Global South)
  • Dr. Jonathan Tan (Applications of spatial science and analytics to improve pediatric health at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles)
  • Dr. Siqin Wang (Creation of the urban built environment dataset using repeatable, replicable, and reproducible workflow to better study population-health-environment interactions)

One project is seeking volunteers:

  • Dr. Yi Qi and Dr. Diana Ter-Ghazaryan (Geospatial Applications of Reality Capture and Human Security at the LA Memorial Coliseum)
