In recognition of her contributions as a graduate teaching assistant in USC General Education courses, Population, Health and Place Ph.D. candidate Han Shen received the 2024 General Education Graduate Assistant Award. At a ceremony on April 30, 2024 at the USC University Club, Dr. Emily Hodgson Anderson, College Dean of Undergraduate Education, presented Han with this award.

Han served as a teaching assistant in the academic year 2023-2024 for Dr. Kayla de la Haye in SSCI 175g: Food, Health and Place (GE Category G: Equity in a Diverse World) and for Dr. Robert Vos in SSCI 165 Lgw: Sustainability Science in the City (GE Categories C: Social Analysis and G: Equity in a Diverse World)

SSI Founding Director John P. Wilson and SSI Managing Director Susan Kamei were on hand to cheer for Han.
