  • September 6: Presentation by John on mixing and cut-off phenomena for Markov chains on certain  non-Abelian groups.
  • September 13: Presentation by Austin on the Kelly criterion and related topics in gambling/investing.

  • September 20: No meeting (an off week).

  • September 27: Presentation by Ujan on the first passage percolation.

  • October 4 and 11: Presentation by Apoorva on nonlinear SPDEs.

  • October 18: No meeting (Fall recess).

  • October 25: Presentation by John on mixing in the top-to-random shuffle.

  • November 1: No meeting (an off week).

  • November 8: Austin (preparation for the oral exam).

  • November 15: Presntation by Ujan on limits of random graphs and existence of a giant component.

  • November 22: Presntation by John on coupling and applications to convergence of Markov chains.
