Summary Statement of Research Interests
Professor Pilch works in string theory, supergravity and quantum field theory. His recent work is in the area of the so-called AdS/CFT correspondence, where he has been studying renormalization group flows in supersymmetric quantum field theories in terms of the holographically dual solutions of the corresponding gravitational theory. His previous interests include the BRST quantization of gravity coupled to conformally invariant matter systems in two dimensions, where he has developed systematic methods for analyzing operator algebras in such theories using the so-called free field techniques.
