Biography

Alisa Sánchez is an Associate Professor of Teaching in the Writing Program at the University of Southern California. She received her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in Rhetoric with an emphasis in Gender and Women’s Studies and is a recipient of Fulbright and Ford Foundation grants. Dr. Sánchez’ writing courses focus on interdisciplinary explorations of the law and vital social issues.

Committed to integrating writing mentorship in academic pathway programs, Dr. Sánchez also serves as the Writing Instructor for the USC Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship and USC Gateway Scholars and regularly participates as a Statement of Purpose Adviser for the Institute for Recruitment of Teachers based at Phillips Academy Andover. She is an alum of both MMUF and IRT and deeply committed to the project of transforming higher education to be more just, equitable, and radiant.
