Weifang Xu is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the Florida State University. His research delves into the interplay between identity and political discourses, and their impact on international conflict. He employs a comprehensive methodological approach that integrates text analysis, machine learning, randomized experiments, and observational studies to elucidate and examine the intricate relationship between interstate conflict and human behavior. Specifically, he concentrates on the dynamics of great power competition between the U.S. and China and cross-strait relations. His research has been published in Research & Politics. He has received his Ms.C. from the University of Edinburgh.
