Elaine Huang, who is graduating (2021) with a B.S. in Human Biology (Biomedical Sciences track) and minors in Healthcare and Musical Studies as well as a MS in Global Medicine, has received a prestigious Fulbright Fellowship to work as a Teaching Assistant in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Elaine is also an accomplished violinist who is the President of the USC Student Symphony Orchestra (https://studentsymphonyorchestra.org/). Congratulations Elaine!

Congratulations to Katie Sayre! Katie, a graduate student in the Integrative and Evolutionary Biology graduate program, has received a highly competitive Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) Merit Award to Current Doctoral Students. This award is given to graduate students who demonstrate exceptional work in their field of research. Katie is a biological anthropologist who works in Dr. David Raichlen’s lab to examine the range of ways modern humans experience aging in an effort to create a more comprehensive understanding of human senescence.

Dornsife Graduate Education Graduate Assistant Award: Katie Beachem is honored to be the recipient of a Dornsife Graduate Education (GE) Graduate Assistant Award which recognizes her distinguished teaching in the GE course HBIO 200. Congratulation Katie on this exceptional accomplishment!

Congratulation to Scott Kanoski on receiving the prestigious Alan N. Epstein Award from the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior. SSIB is the premier international scientific organization in the field of ingestive behavior (eating, drinking), and the Alan N. Epstein Award is given annually to a researcher for making significant contributions to the field of ingestive behavior.
