Mission Statement

Responsive to the charge of USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts & Sciences to expand and sustain thriving scholarly and professional environments throughout the college, this office sets out to deliver timely, impactful, multifaceted, and empathetic support to our colleagues and students in the advancement of goals related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. To this end, we ask ourselves three questions daily: 1) What unmet need lies behind a complaint, crisis, or inequity? 2) How can we better understand the unmet need? 3) Within our given options for remediation, how might we remove obstacles and meet the underlying need? Most importantly, we apply enlightened action, based on what we have discovered, to achieve the most equitable outcome for all involved.
