Rob Asghar ’87
Rob Asghar is a writer and consultant based in Los Angeles. He is the author of Leadership Is Hell: How to Manage Well and Escape with Your Soul and USC: A Journey of Transformation, 2010-2015. His essays and commentaries—spanning career advice, culture, psychology and current events—have appeared in dozens of major outlets around the world, including The Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, Philadelphia Inquirer, Forbes.com, CNN.com and the Japan Times.
A longtime aide to USC leadership studies pioneer Warren Bennis and former USC President Steven B. Sample, he collaborated with them on their literary coda, The Art & Adventure of Leadership. He has served as an adviser to four presidents at USC and Northwestern University as well as to numerous non-profit and for-profit organizations. He has been a University Fellow at USC’s Center on Public Diplomacy and a member of the Pacific Council on International Policy and Chicago Council on Global Affairs.
