Dani Byrd is a Professor of Linguistics at the University of Southern California. Her scientific research in linguistics and speech has been funded for over two and a half decades by the federal government’s National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. Her specialty is in speech production and articulatory timing. Using cutting-edge magnetometer and real-time MRI technology for tracking and imaging inside the mouth and throat during speech, her interdisciplinary research program investigates language production and articulation modeling. She is a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America. Dani is proud to be teaching in USC’s honors program “Thematic Option.”
