The AltaMed Summer Scholars Program is a six-week, pre-health/pre-medicine summer program in Los Angeles. Program participants attend workshops on health equity, gain clinical skills, and engage in research activities that focus on serving medically underserved communities. After completion of the program, all participants are eligible to receive up to $2,500 in stipends. Come join us for an info session all about the program!

Sentio University is a brand new university with a brand new approach to therapist education! We are seeking energetic undergraduate interns for our 2024 Internship. This internship is a great opportunity for undergraduate students looking to gain experience for graduate school and develop skills to work in mental health.

This internship will be 100% online and require students to be available 3 hours a week for 4 weeks, 12 hours total. Students who participate in this internship will assist Sentio University staff with testing new experiential educational methods for undergraduates, attend Deliberate Practice trainings with Sentio University faculty, and submit a Reflection Essay and Feedback Form at the conclusion of the internship. Join our informational session to learn more about this opportunity!

Our Spring internship will be March 4th-March 29th with the application deadline on February 1st.

Are you interested in career possibilities in the biotech industry? Join Dr. Steve Casper from KGI for a Biotech Bootcamp. During the bootcamp, you will learn about different areas of biotechnology and career options in the industry, many of which do not require a PhD. You will also participate in a fun team project where you will learn about a significant biotech product invented in California. The event will also introduce students to graduate school options focused on biotechnology.

CIA Information Session: A CIA Representative will provide information regarding the CIA and the variety of career and paid internship opportunities available. The presentation will include details about application processes and suggestions for making yourself competitive for employment, including tips for writing cover letters and resumes, and preparing for an interview with CIA. Undergraduates and Graduates of all academic disciplines are encouraged to attend.

Simulation: Following the information session, we invite attendees to stay for a short simulation exercise that puts you in the role of different CIA professional occupations. Attendees will read a short piece of intelligence and then participate in a facilitated discussion. The goal is to give participants a hands-on experience to get a better sense of what different Agency careers entail.

Please bring a hard copy resume to leave with the Agency Recruiter.

Serving in the Peace Corps is a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture, learn a new language, and have the experience of a lifetime.

Join Kerry Carmichael, Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and Senior Recruiter at this information session to:

In this session, Matt Hughes (USC alumnus) and U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Office Special Agent and Foreign Service Specialist, will discuss careers in federal law enforcement in general, a brief overview of the Foreign Service and Diplomatic Security in more depth. He’ll also discuss the path that led him from USC to his work at DS. There will also be plenty of time for questions.

Are you East, West, North or South? During this session, Elliott Rowe, both an alum and recruiter of the Educational Based Non-Profit City Year, will provide participants with the tools for understanding how they approach work and how their approach can differ from others using the Leadership Compass personality test.

You’ve just applied to that job or internship! What now? This panel of recruiters across multiple industries will demystify what goes on in that period of time from when applicants apply to when they are contacted for interviews. We’ll discuss applicant tracking systems, what recruiters are looking at in that in-between period, and next steps for you as an applicant to take while you’re waiting for that call!
