Junhong Duan is currently pursuing the Population, Health and Place (PHP) program at USC, building upon her master’s degree in spatial data science from USC, and her bachelor’s degree in Management from DongBei University of Finance and Economics.

With a strong foundation in spatial analysis and data science, Junhong has proficiently utilized open-source software like GeoPandas, Arcpy in Python, and Esri’s ArcGIS Pro to successfully complete projects focusing on the analysis of cancer data and the study of critical health indices such as the Children’s Opportunity Index and Physical Fitness Test.

Her valuable contributions include expanding the SSI “USC GeoHealth Hub” through her work on Latino health and exploring the impact of drive times on patient appointments.

Passionate about interdisciplinary research, Junhong aspires to pioneer innovative approaches for enhancing community health outcomes, making a positive difference in the world of public health and geospatial science.
