January 24. A general discussion about getting a job in business, industry, and government (BIG), followed by presentation by Cora on Locally Adaptive Transfer Learning Algorithms

January 31. Discussion about writing  a resume, followed by JE’s presentation about Limit Theorems in Parabolic Double Cosets of the Symmetric Group.

February 7. Discussion about writing a cover letter, followed by Alex’s presentation about Non-interactive simulation with Gaussian sources.

February 14. Discussion about an HR interview during the hiring process; then, presentation by Xinze about Dimension-free average treatment effect inference with deep neural networks.

February 21. No meeting (Presidents’ Day)

February 28. An extensive discussion, lead by Apoorva, of  various coding interviews and best ways to prepare for them.

March 7. Discussion of salary negotiation, followed by Apoorva’s presentation on Gaussian free fields and stochastic heat equation (preparation for the defense).

March 14. Spring break.

March 21. A general discussion of (research) seminars, followed by Melih’s presentation about stochastic calculus with set-valued functions.

March 28. A discussion, lead by Apoorva,  of  mathematical questions one can expect at a job interview.
