Biography

Z.D. Dochterman holds a Ph.D. from UCLA in Comparative Literature, with a focus on Central American poetry and aesthetics. He has taught about globalization, community engagement and labor in his Writing Classes. His pedagogical interests include collective writing practices, ungrading, AI, and first-generation student issues.

Additionally, he writes speculative fiction, and his stories have appeared or are forthcoming in “Seize the Press,” “Bone Parade,” and “Molotov Cocktail,” and his essays on film and work have appeared in “The Conversation,” and the USC Dornsife Magazine.
