    Other Employment

    • Executive Director, Southern California Earthquake Center, 01/01/1991-01/01/2001
  • Summary Statement of Research Interests

Professor Henyey researches the application of seismic reflection and refraction and studies of the tectonic evolution of the continental crust. His field studies involve earthquake research, including the physics of fault zones. Professor Henyey is participating in the Los Angeles Region Seismic Experiment, a cooperative study between the Southern California Earthquake Center and the U.S. Geological Survey. The experiment is intended to image the crustal structure beneath the greater Los Angeles basin, and in particular, address the questions of depth to Moho, the possible existence of mid-crustal decollements, and the geometry of blind thrust faults.
